Jana Barnhill, DTM is the current Senior Vice President of Toastmasters International and hails from Lubbock, Texas. At the upcoming International Convention (held in August in Calgary, Alberta Canada), Jana will be elected Toastmasters International President. District 53 has been selected as one of many Toastmaster Districts that she will visit in 2008-09.

Although the President's itinerary has not been finalized, we expect that the President will arrive on Thursday, October 9th and will be available on Friday, October 10th for media interviews and corporate visits, for speeches to selected club groups, and a courtesy call on the mayor and possibly the governor of the state. On Saturday, October 11th, she will attend the District 53 Conference. It will be a great opportunity for us to meet and talk with the presiding TI President. As members of District 53, we will share our hospitality and provide an outstanding, showcase District Conference.

Jana has held many leadership roles in our organization including Region III International Director 2002-04 and District 44 Governor 2000-01. She is an accomplished speaker and professional trainer. Jana has earned the Accredited Speaker designation in 1997 and is a 5-time International Speech Contest Winner in District 44 (Western Texas). Jana has competed in the World Championship of Public Speaking (representing Region III), taking Second Place in 1996 and Third Place in 1993.
