  • Division A Speech Contests - A Night of Entertainment
    Speakers from 4 Areas competed in the Division A speech contests on October 19 in Danbury, CT. The event was hosted by the West-Conn Club #599 at the Wooster School library. Division A Governor Karin von Kaenel was the Contest Chair. Past International Director Bob Bradshaw was the Chief Judge.
  • The Division A Humorous Speech Contest Winners are
    1. Belle Garafola - Barnum Squares Toastmasters #1701
      Belle's speech title was "My seventh road test"
    2. David Alexander - Putnam Speaks Toastmasters #4839
      Dave's speech title was "MRI: Magnetic Resonance or Medieval Torture"

  • Division B Speech Contests - A Night of Entertainment
    Speakers from 5 Areas competed in the Div B Humorous Speech and the Table Topics Speech Contests on October 11 in Hartford, CT. The event was hosted by the Stag TM Club #2908, at The Hartford, T22 Tower Suite. Area B4 Governor Marsha Kiley was the Contestmaster and Area B5 Governor Andrew Bernard was the Chief Judge.
  • Division B Humorous Speech Contest Winners are:
    1. Steve Gondek (9617 - CIGNA Lunchtime) with a humorous "3 B P" campaign for president.
    2. William Hoyt (6613 - One State Street) with "The Bear Facts" - relating a tale of suspense in wild woods of "country" Connecticut.
    3. Joe Zafian (919 - Greater Hartford) with "The General Evaluation" a mosaic many memorable Toastmasters meetings.

  • Division C Speech Contests - A Night of Entertainment
    Speakers from 6 Areas competed in the Div C Humorous Speech and the Table Topics Speech Contests on October 17 at the Niantic Community Church, home of the new Niantic Community Church Toastmasters. President of the Groton Toastmasters club and current Club Coach Lynnea Mahlke was Contestmaster. Division C Governor Shelly Hathaway was Chief Judge. The Contest Master created quite a fright as Death, declaring that most people were even more afraid of public speaking.

    Speakers from 5 Areas met at the Yale University Bass Building in New Haven, CT to compete in the Division D Humorous and Table Topics Contests. The event was hosted by The Greater New Haven Toastmasters Club #5436
