Jeanette Harris

Performance artist Jeanette "Momma J" Harris uses music, comedy storytelling, and poetry to bring smiles and inspiration to audiences of all ages. As a former radio hostess for over 15 years and award- winning playwright, she shares her insight on performance anxiety with students and the corporate world.

The Informational Interview involves connecting with people to clarify goals, explore possible career paths and build confidence for your job interview. You will have an appreciation of how your Toastmasters training can help you successfully run an Informational Interview which could possibly lead to your next career opportunity!

Dan has recently retired from a career in software development and engineering and is currently involved in the UConn Master Gardener Program, ballroom dancing and Toastmasters. He is an enthusiastic believer in the effectiveness of using interpersonal networking skills in all areas of life. He has researched and developed a unique tool for networking with others who can influence your career.

Elaine Koziatek

With a masters degree in Human Resources Management and over 20 years of HR experience, Elaine Koziatek will provide a clear path through three important speeches: "Hire Me", "Performance Appraisals", "Keep Me Employed". In today’s volatile employment environment, this is an area of focus for everyone. You will practice the "Keep Me Employed" speech and be ready to present it the very next day you return to work!

Elaine has over 20 years Human Resources experience presenting training to all levels of management. She has an ‘Insiders’ view of the hiring and selection processes and performance appraisals. She founded TOP 4, a small business coaching company, which helps clients identify their top 4 priorities and how to achieve them. She is a trainer for Girls Scouts and English as a second language.

Jerry’s creative techniques will help you to sharpen this powerful tool and become a more effective communicator.

Jerry is a VP of Research & Consulting at Conning & Company in Hartford, CT. One of the roles he filled in a 20-year international insurance career, was a corporate trainer in the Middle East. Jerry has been trained in the arts of healthy vocal production by opera singers. He
applies these techniques in settings ranging from conference and client presentations, to motivational talks at homeless shelters.

Steve Gondek, joined Toastmasters in 1999 and has enjoyed success at the Area, Division, and District contests. Outside Toastmasters he is involved in training, and coaching youth soccer and basketball. His success has come from utilizing his imagination and creativity to take the mundane and present it in a fun and entertaining way.

Dr. Doreen Stern

Do you have a hard time saying NO? There’s a fine art to saying NO yet it’s an essential skill Dr. Stern learned in order to become an accomplished speaker, writer, and coach. Only by saying NO can you focus on your highest priorities in life. This fun-filled session will introduce you to a simple method to say NO demonstrated through role play. You’ll leave with a new skill helping you to achieve your goals in life.

Dr. Stern is a speaker, writer and coach. She holds a doctorate in public policy and two master’s degrees. Her successful career spans business, higher education, and social services. Within the past three years, Dr. Stern has delivered more than 75 speeches on achieving your dreams. She’s appeared on Channel 3’s Better Connecticut TV show and been featured in "The Harford Courant." She's currently writing the book, "Dream It, Achieve It."

Isaak Gelbinovich

As a professional speaker and President of Speaking to Succeed, Isaak Gelbinovich knows how to own a stage through storytelling.
