Hiking the Talcott Mountain trail

Hiking is fast becoming a favorite pastime among Toastmasters. Tom Alvord's idea and his penchant for hiking along with other members' enthusiasm made possible the second hiking expedition.

These 4 Toastmasters and 8 guests including a baby wanted to spend some time away from routine indoors and got together on a refreshingly sunny day on the Talcott Mountain trail in Simsbury. They hiked their way all the way up to the Hublein Tower which stood tall at 900 feet and made it back. It did not feel like walking 3+ miles at all in the company of friends, families and fun time. Some of the adventurers in the group even got a taste of some rock climbing on the way up as a bonus surprise fun.
