It's a BOY!

	Springfield, MA Friday, November 25, 2011 - Jonathan and Chrissy Toner announce the birth of their son, Owen David Toner.  Owen arrived by Caesarian Section at 2:35 pm at Bay State Medical Center. He was 9 pounds, 3 ounces and 24 inches long.
This future Toastmaster will no doubt be mentored by his dad who is a member of Mass Mutual Speakers and Mass Mutual Club, the District 53 website architect, sponsor of the gavel club at Western Massachusetts Regional Correctional Center in Chicopee, Massachusetts, recipient of the Toastmaster of the Year Award in 2011 and is a Distinguished Toastmaster.

Division E Fall 2011 Contests

The Division E Humorous and Table Topics speech contests were held on a surprisingly snowy night on Thursday, October 27th at the CTSB-TV studio in South Lee, MA.  Mark Zawistowski of ProSpeakers acted as Contest Master and Bill Polk of Last Word Club served as Chief Judge.  Because there are only 3 Areas within Division E, each was entitled to send 2 contestants per contest, but due to scheduling conflicts we had 4 contestants in Table Topics and 5 contestants in the Humorous contest.  All speakers did an excellent job and are to be congratulated for participating in the event.

Cathie McCoy, Division E Governor would like to thank all who participated as contestants, functionaries and audience members.  A special thank you goes to Area 51 Governor, Laura Grunfeld for organizing the location and acting as Logistics Manager; to Will Ryan for volunteering to edit the recording of the procedures and especially to the staff at CTSB-TV for giving us such a warm welcome and for broadcasting the contest over their station.  (Schedule TBD - stay tuned!)
