The 1995-96 District year has been very successful and, as
I have said in previous messages, we will be recognized as a
"Distinguished District" at the upcoming Annual convention
in St Louis.
The District would not have been able to earn this distinction
without the many outstanding efforts and accomplishments of the
Area and Division Governors. The success of the District, as
well as the Toastmasters organization as a whole, depends on
their efforts to fulfill the Mission of Toastmasters as stated
for the club, the Area, the Division, and the District.
Our success can be measured by "how well we make use
of the educational programs" i.e. number of CTM, ATM, and
DTMs; and "how well we attract new members and retain our
current members." The team of 5 Division Governors and 20
Area Governors worked very hard this year to fulfill that Mission
of Toastmasters. I congratulate and applaud the entire District
53 team. It was a truly successful year - a year to be remembered
by this District Governor for many years to come. Thank you.
At our District 53 "Hall of Fame" at the upcoming
Fall Conference (November 16) in Southbury, CT, the following
hard working individuals will be recognized:
- Select Distinguished Divisions and Division Governors:
- Division B - Jane Philion, DTM
- Division E - Joe Purcell, DTM
- Select Distinguished Areas and Area Governors:
- Area B-1 - Jeanne Berube, ATM
- Area B-4 - Maureen Ross Gemme, ATM
- Area C-5 - John Keppler, ATM
- Area E-2 - Becky Ianniello, ATM
- Distinguished Areas and Area Governors
- Area A-2 - Susan Thatcher, CTM
- Area B-2 - Thea Cardamone, ATM
- Area C-2 - Ken Santopietro, CTM
- Area C-3 - Debra W. Grehn, ATM
- Area E-1 - Norman Miller, ATM
- Area E-4 - Joan Bedinotti, ATMb
The above list of "Very Distinguished" Area and
Division Governors worked hard with a clear vision of greatness
- as measured by the number of CTM and ATM award recognitions,
20+ member clubs (membership), and Oct/Apr club dues paid on-time,
and visits to their Area Clubs. The key factor for Distinguished
distinction is balance - excel in all critical success factors.
Thank you, to all Clubs that contributed to the successful recognition
of their Area and Division. And most of all, thank you, to the
individual Toastmaster members and leaders who all "Did
It With a Vision."
