bullet Clubs achieve Goal 9 of the Distinguished Club Plan when at least four of their club officers (President, VP Education, VP Membership, VP Public Relations, Secretary, Treasurer and Sergeant at Arms) are trained in their leadership responsibilities. (Of course, all club officers should strive to attend training.) Officers must attend and fully participate in two district-sponsored training sessions as described below.

  • At least four club officers must attend the first training session between
    June 1, 2007 and August 31, 2007. AND ...
  • At least four club officers must attend the second training session between
    December 1, 2007 and February 28, 2008.

Leadership Exchange clipart The agenda for the second round training events will go beyond the basic roles and responsibilities of seven Club Officers. Significant time will be spent on the exchange of ideas and experiences of Club leadership team (officers).

    1. The position or office of a leader: ascended to the leadership of the Toastmasters club.
    2. Capacity or ability to lead: showed strong leadership during her first 6 months as Club President.
    3. A group of leaders: met with the leadership team of the Toasty Toastmasters Club.
    4. Guidance; direction: The club membership prospered and met their educational goals under the leadership of the new VP Education.
  • ex·change
    1. To give in return for something received; trade: exchange two Advanced Communicator manuals for two Competent Communicator manuals; exchanging Youth Leadership presentation visuals/slides for Speechcraft visuals/slides.
    2. To give and receive reciprocally; interchange: exchange of meeting resources; exchange programming ideas.

For the second round, each Division will hold Division Sponsored Club Officer Training and Leadership Exchange. Additional training opportunities will be created/planned by individual Areas.

for the June, July, and August 2007 Club Officer Training Period

TLI provides the essential training courses to help you understand the full responsibilities of your role as a club officer and will help you get started with effective methods and strategies.

July/August Club Officer Training Report Including TLI + Div/Area Make-Up
For the first round, any and all Club Officer Training must be completed by August 31, 2007 to get Distinguished Club Plan credit. In addition to the TLI training events, each Division will hold Division Sponsored Club Officer Training with additional opportunities created/planned by individual Areas. Interim and Final reports will be posted below:
