Club Web Site Award
The Golden 53 Webby
The Golden 53 Webby is presented to the Toastmaster Club and the VP Public Relations and/or Webmaster that
creates and maintains a Distinguished Club Web Site.
Contest Period: Club web sites must be updated and maintained for the current Toastmaster year (2006-2007). Submission deadline is June 30, 2007.
Web Site Contest Rules
- Only ONE Web Site submission per club will be qualified for judging.
- Club Web Site submissions will only be accepted from the Club Webmaster, Club VP Public Relations or the Club President. Should different entries be received for the same club, only the submission from the Club President will be entered officially in the contest.
- Club Web Sites will be reviewed during the month of July by the District 53 Club Web Site Contest Review Committee.
- A Club Web Site on a "private" corporate Intranet must be made open and accessible (e.g. mirrored) to the "public" review committee during the review period (July 2007).
- Appearance (e.g. a hyperlink) on the District 53 web site listing of club web sites (www.district53toastmasters.org) does not automatically enter a club's site in the contest.
- Web sites must be focused on promoting Toastmasters programs and activities with minimal or no commercial promotion of non-Toastmaster material.
- Each Web Site Must Have:
(1) Club Name / Club Number
(2) Meeting Time and Place
(3) Hyperlinks to the District Web Site ( www.district53toastmasters.org ) and to Toastmasters International Site ( www.toastmasters.org )
(4) Publisher's Name (usually club president)
(5) Webmaster's name / E-mail Address
Awards Criteria
- WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN, WHY, and HOW
- Web sites must cover the basics. The site should help the prospective member find your Club meeting and follow through to visit your Club.
- Unique and useful content.
- Web sites showing unique content that is actually informative and useful to the target audience (Toastmasters and prospective members) will result in a good score here.
- Interesting design and layout
- Web sites showing design creativity in conjunction with functional layouts will score well in this category. The use and choice of graphics can add or detract to your over-all presentation.
- Clear and simple navigation
- A web site that is easy to navigate and simple to understand helps you to score points.
- Balanced Presentation and Functionality
- Is the Club web site useful for prospective members?
- Is the Club web site useful for all Club members?
- Meets TI Internet Guidelines

How to Submit your Club Web site:
- Send an e-mail entry to

- Club Name and Number =

- VPPR or Webmaster's Name =
- VPPR or Webmaster's Email =
- Club President's Name =
- Club President's Email =
- and any special instructions ( e.g. login IDs, temporary passwords) should the Club want the review committee to view password protected areas.
- Your entry will be acknowledged.
- Note: To be considered for a Golden Webby, all Club Web sites need to have public Internet access (e.g. not behind a corporate firewall) during the review period, July 2006.

All Webby Award recipients may then proudly display their “Golden 53 Webby” Award icon on their Club Web Site.

District 53 Golden Webby Awards will be announced in the Yankee Activator. All Decisions by the District 53 Club Web Site Contest Review Committee are final. |
